Kāpiti.IT is a team of 5 based throughout Paraparaumu, Otaihanga and Waikanae. We are a rapidly growing company, offering more services throughout the region.

We primarily cover the hub of the Coast in Paraparaumu, Raumati and Waikanae however we have had lots of interest from Wellington to Levin and everywhere in between.

Getting to all of these places is straight forward for our team and we're able to attend her under our standard rates. 

We charge $115 per hour including GST for residential and $125+gst for business. All callouts are minimum of one hour unless resolved within 15 minutes under our 15 minute fast fix fee. Additionally we charge a one time travel fee for some further away areas (see below). This is an extra payment, and not per hour and covers our fuel and time driving to site.

As always, our emergency service offering 24/7 IT support is also available for double our hourly rate (i.e. double time). Whether it's 3am or 3pm, we'll get there as soon as we can! Travel callout fees also apply to this surcharge.

We found a gap in the market, but not your typical gap. For as long as I can remember, I've hated the term business hours, especially for service businesses and computer technology companies. 

I would be at work and the repair guy or builder could only come at 10am on a Tuesday, pretty much unhelpful unless I took a day off work. Living in Kapiti, but working in Wellington, you can't nip home at lunch. Then you know what happened, they didn't show up on time or were late, or better yet, didn't show AT ALL.

I knew if I ever started my own service business I'd flip those business hours on it's head and offer something that very few (if any) other IT companies in Kāpiti offer.

After talking my ideas over with colleagues, and finding out my partner wanted to start a lifestyle business (look after our kids in the day time, work in the evening), we launched our company.

With over 25 years experience I know my way around a computer, but my passion is for projects and solutions, creating concepts and changing the way we live, work and play. From decked out smart lighting, to night vision CCTV smart security, to creating amazing smart homes and offices, to improving wireless for everyone, to creating epic websites that rank in Google, I offer a one stop shop for all your IT support and tech you've dreamed of!

Times are tough out there, we came to the market with a budget friendly price. When you factor in 15% GST, travel time, petrol and marketing costs, our hourly fees are minimal. We don't need to charge you $200 per hour like our competitors, however being based on the Coast, we do have to charge a fuel fee (travel callout fee) for clients in some areas. This is a one time fee regardless of time spent on site. 

Finally, we started Kāpiti.IT to support our local community. There's a lot of older people here whom are new to technology, and we'll help you get setup and using the latest tech for an affordable fee. Plus we offer many community events such as volunteer days, where our team get out and share our knowledge with others, free of charge.

We're currently a web business only, we have no physical retail store. Why you might ask? This would increase our costs dramatically as we'd have to pay $1,000 a week for a piece of real estate on the ever increasing in cost Kapiti Coast.

Instead, we come directly to your house or business. You're comfortable there, can show us exactly what's happening, or what project you'd like to accomplish. Further, you don't need to spend time and money venturing outdoors. 

Due to our insurance, we must attend your property and all work must be done there. We're insured up to $3 million dollars and hold all relevant public liability insurance. 

This does mean that not all IT jobs are best logged through us, for example reinstalling an operating system which may take 3 or 4 hours and a repair store which can fix many computers at the same time is a better option for you. We'll discuss with you when you get in touch with us.
